整尊雕塑以抽象的龙为创作元素，运用巧妙的构思将五条蛟龙紧紧联系在一起。龙是华夏文明的图腾，象征着勤劳，勇敢，不屈不挠，大胆创造，诚信和谐。龙有征瑞的神性，结合莱阳当地“五龙河的传说”作为吉祥嘉瑞的神物，龙能带给一方带来平安吉祥。腾云飞天是龙的看家本领，无论在水中还是天上都是奋力开拓，行的快飞得高，借此比喻莱阳未来的发展必定紧跟时代的步伐，创造出辉煌美好的未来。

Taking abstracted dragons as its theme, the sculpture has integrated five dragons ingeniously. As the totem of Chinese civilization, the dragon symbolizes diligence, bravery, perseverance, creativity, integrity and harmony. In Chinese culture as well as the local legend about the “Five-dragon River”, the dragon, a mythical creature standing for prosperity and happiness, can bring peace and auspiciousness. Since the creature can fly high in the sky and travel fast in water, the sculpture also implies that Laiyang would surely keep pace with the times and create a splendid future with its people’s unremitting exploration.
